“With our textile print shop we were on the road again with our mobile T-shirt printing. Our latest assignment for McDonald’s in Hamburg in the Barclaycard Arena at the “ESL One Hamburg 2018” was a complete success! Over 1,500 T-shirts were finished with an icon on the chest, which the customer could choose from 3 variants on site. As the icing on the cake, each guest was also able to choose their own individual name or slogan, which we prepared on site and then printed on the back of the shirts. Great event clothing! Now it’s done and we’re really looking forward to the next mobile print job. “
Event clothing – a strong brand presence at every event
At this event, we finished black cotton shirts with screen print transfer and flex transfer. Two different printing processes were therefore used.
The chest print on the event clothing was a single-color screen print transfer. With this printing method, each color from an image, logo or motif is printed in mirror image on a special screen-printed foil sheet. A special adhesive is placed under the color, which allows the transfer to be applied to a wide variety of textiles. The screen printing transfer is suitable for almost all types of textiles, whether light or dark, cotton or polyester. Depending on the area of application, the transfers can be made boil-proof, migration-resistant and for industrial cleaning, especially for workwear. Screen printing transfers can be produced in large quantities in advance and only applied to the textile when required (such as at this event).
We chose flex transfer for the individual back print of this event clothing. Here, the print motif was cut out of a wafer-thin colored foil in mirror image during the event using a cutting plotter. The parts of the film not used for printing were then removed by hand (the motif is weeded) so that ultimately only the desired motif remains. The print motif is then placed on a heat-resistant carrier film and is then pressed onto the shirts using heat and pressure with a transfer press.
The film from which the motif is plotted is called flex film. It is a thin, smooth film that bonds very well with the textile and comes amazingly close to the look of screen printing due to our wafer-thin film type. The material is very flexible and therefore also suitable for stretch materials and has a soft, textile feel. In addition to the standard colors, special colors such as neon, metallic and reflective film are also possible. We only use films that meet the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and are therefore free of harmful substances. This print is particularly suitable for one to three-color motifs with solid tones. You can choose from a wide range of plain or patterned colored films. Unfortunately, color gradients are not possible with this printing process. The print has a smooth surface and brilliant and durable colors that are wash and color resistant from 40-60°c. Due to the dyed-through film, fading of the colors is virtually impossible even after a large number of washes.
